... Lori Kelley started out performing at her dad's Marine Corps squadron parties in the early '70's. She won numerous talent shows as a kid. In 1986 she earned a Degree in Music Education at N.A.U. in Flagstaff, AZ. She formed a duo with her shy sister MICHELLE NIELSON. They called themselves TWICE SHY. They turned it into a trio with BUTCH NIELSON and produced 3 CD’s together.

In 1996, Lori moved to Key West, Florida with her handsome Coast Guard husband and their two brilliant kids. She became a regular performer at CAPT. TONY'S SALOON. That's where JIMMY BUFFET got his start, ya know. SHEL SILVERSTEIN was known to send folks over there just to hear her sing. How cool is that?

But there are a few things that Lori is super proud of with her music career. In 2003 she was awarded Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association, WAMA. She also won the Grand Prize in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest that same year with her local mega-hit song, "It Was A Great Day." In 2007, she was chosen out of hundreds to study with No. 1 Hit Songwriter JEFFREY STEELE in his Songwriter Boot Camp. Lori Kelley now performs in an Award Winning Duo with CLETUS KENNELLY. They have two Folk/Pop CD’s, 10 WAMMIE Awards, played almost 1000 shows together and continue to write songs and perform in the Washington, D.C. area.
